Halloween Night

We decided to go to the District for some trick-or-treating. It was worse then Disneyland. There was one solid line going all around the shops that you could stand in to go trick-or-treating from store to store. After 10 minutes of waiting and only getting to one store, we headed down to the other side of the District (where it was a lot less crowded) and rode the carousel.

Carving Pumpkins

Here we are carving pumpkins, sorta.

Sabrina, Benson, and Glamama joined us.

The final product and a six month pregnant belly!
Yikes, I'm not sure which one is more scary!

October (FINALLY!)

I love October! It was a busy month and things are not going to slow down anytime soon. Here's a few pictures from our October festivities.

Here's our Logan at the pumpkin patch.
He's not so photogenic, so we snap whatever pictures we can get.

Does your pumpkin patch have a GIANT slide?

Or a bounce house with NO ONE in it?

Time

Where does time go? Why does it go so stinkin' fast? I can't believe Summer has come and gone and Fall is amongst us already! Whew! Here is what we have been up to during this time that has flown by (does that even make sense?). Yes, I am preggers. 5 months to be exact. 5 MONTHS!?! ALREADY?!? Yes! We are expecting baby Parkson numero dos in February. We are super excited and find out next Monday if it's a boy, girl, triplets, or alien. We are hoping for.... You'll find out next week. School started back up, so it was back to part time teaching for me. I can't complain this year because I have an amazing class and I only have to make it until February. Logan is growing up way to fast! It seriously make me want to cry knowing that my baby is 16 months already. It still feels like I just had him and he should be in my lap snuggling constantly instead of climbing, tumbling, and bouncing off walls. He is an amazing little boy, and we can only hope this next baby will be just as perfect. Every night before I go to sleep, I slink into Logan's room and give him another kiss goodnight. I am tempted every night to pick him up, snuggle him, and rock him all night. I know i CAN'T be the only mother out there who feels the same way. Of course I could make this post pages long, but this was just a snippet for ya. Check in next week to see the sex of the baby.

Lots of Updating

I thought that I would be good with this blog thing since I am always looking at other people's blogs and since I had the WHOLE SUMMER OFF! But no, I find myself way behind. Must be the procrastinator in me. Here is a run down of what the Parksons have been up to.

The Dixie and Clawson Burgess Family Reunion in Pine Valley

Way back on June 20th, we traveled to Pine Valley where my grandparents have a home. Pine Valley has always held a special place in my heart. It is my home away from home, my sanctuary, my breath of fresh air. It is so gorgeous AND PEACEFUL up there and I feel so fortunate to be so close to my grandparents and I am able to go and enjoy their place anytime I want. Dixie and Clawson are my grandmother's parents (my great-grandparents) and they were one of the first families to settle Pine Valley. I didn't get very many pictures (just of my cute family of course) but we had TONS OF fUN. My great-grandparents had 5 children and each of their children and 4 or more children (does that make sense?). And there were great-great-great grandkids. There were a lot of people! We ate, we talked, we played games, and then we ate some more.

The Proposal

Sabrina scored some premier tickets to this movie at GV Ranch. OH MY GOSH! It was HILARIOUS! I haven't laughed that hard in a movie in such a long time. I think I want to go see it again. I will definitely own it. There's nothing better then going on a free date with your hubby and seeing a great movie. It doesn't come out until the 19th of June, but I highly recommend going to see it (and not just because Ryan Reynolds is in it).

Schools OUT for the Summer (Officially)

Today is my first OFFICIAL  day of summer. Yesterday should have been since school DID end for students LAST THURSDAY, but all 9 month teachers had to go back to school on Monday to make up that GLORIOUS snow day we all enjoyed back in December. So today is the day. I am already board. What do you do all day? I have a few plans this summer like the beach and DISNEYLAND, but that's only one week at the of June. Swimming, playing at the park (in the mornings), throwing rocks in the backyard, watching way to much TV, making rag quilts, going to the splash pads. Huh, I don't know if that will last me all summer. So, to all the stay at home mommas, what do you do everyday? Do you start preparing dinner in the morning? do you really do crafts each day? Do you just play and play and play? I need some suggestions to fill the hours. And if you are board too, call me and we shall set up a play date.

Something old, something NEW, something borrowed, something blue???

Kyle and I were never actually married, so after almost 5 years of living together and one child later, we finally decided to tie the knot. JUST KIDDING! We ARE married, but I did get to put on a wedding dress (or two, or three) and walk down an isle this weekend. My sister Sabrina is the Marketing and Event Coordinator for Allyse's Bridal and she asked me to model SOME wedding dresses in their fashion show. I never thought that I would get to try on wedding dresses again. It was so much fun. I went into their new store (located next door to Deseret Book) and tried on sooooo many wedding dresses. I think I fell in love with all of them. Every dress I tried on was my favorite. I don't know how I every chose my wedding dress when Kyle and I were married. Sabrina narrowed my selection down to 10 dresses that I got to model. It was at the Wild Horse Golf Club in this beautiful reception hall. There were about 12 other models and close to 100 dresses. I love the perks of having a totally awesome sister! Thanks Breenie for letting me be a part of the fashion show. If any of you fellow bloggers want to get 20% off a wedding or formal gown, leave me a comment and i'll send you an email with the details. It only last until the end of June so plan a cruise or plan ahead for those Christmas parties that you MIGHT need to wear a formal to.

DO YOU MIND???

I am fairly new at this blogging thing and not sure about blogging etiquette (or if there is blogging etiquette?). I have two questions.

  1. Is it okay to go blog surfing? I had no idea what a blog was this time last year. My sister introduced me to blogging. I was curious to know who else was out there blogging. So I went blog surfing. I clicked on one of her comments, which led me to the blog of one of her friends from high school. On this friend’s blog, I found friends that I went to high school with, so I clicked on them. I found SO many people that I know. It was amazing. I love getting caught up on what my friends from high school and other acquaintances are doing. I usually know the owner of the blog, but sometimes when I am blog surfing, I run across a blog that is just a good read. Back to my question. Is it okay that I am looking at people’s blogs that ONE, I haven’t seen or spoken to in a few years and TWO, people that I don’t even know?
  2. Assuming that it IS okay to be looking at other blogs, can I add them to my blog friends? If you didn't want people looking at your blog, wouldn't you go private? I don’t want the owner of a blog that I read to come to my blog and see their name on my friends list and think to themselves “what the H, who is this crazy?” I would be flattered if someone I didn’t know was interested in my writing, but I could be in the minority on that.

Let me know what the proper etiquette is or if YOU MIND when someone is reading your blog that you haven't seen or spoken to in a few years or poeple that you don't know at all.

Logan's FIRST Birthday!

For Logan's Birthday, we had our families over to our home. It was the first party we have had at our new home and definitely not the last. We had much FUN eating, talking, opening presents, and of course devouring birthday cake! Here is a picture of the cake before and after Logan attacked it.

Sabrina and I slaved all morning making this cutesie cake. It only took Logan about 3 seconds to realize mom and dad just placed food in front of him and SQUISH he dug into that cake. He did not disappoint! He ate so much of that cake and wore a little bit of it too. I love this little dude. After cake, we gave him a quick wet down in the kitchen sink and let him open up presents. Thanks family for all the gifts given including the ball pit, slide, and sand and water table. I am sure we will be entertained for the summer. Logan was being a darling show off the whole night. After he opened presents, he got up on a box and started dancing around. I am not sure where he learned that from. He had loads of fun. Here are more pictures from this big one year olds first birthday.

Logan is ONE!!!

It is rather astonishing how quickly Logan's first year has flown by. It is more astonishing how much an infant can learn, and grow, and come so far in just one year! Logan was born on May 1, 2008 weighing in at a whopping 9 lbs. 6 ozs. and 21 inches in length. Do you know what my OB said to me right after I delivered this ginormous child? "Your consecutive babies will only get bigger and bigger." WHAT! Bigger than 9 lbs. 6 ozs. Thanks for those comforting words. Here's a pic of my handsome little boy on his first day of life. Followed by some of my favorite pictures taken during his first year.

New Bloggity Blog

Okay, I have finally jumped on the bandwagon. It was time. I needed a BLOG! I have hesitated so long because ONE: I procrastinate on everything and adding a blog to my everyday mix won't help me get the cleaning, cooking, wifeing, mommying, teaching, et cetera, et cetera done. Like right now, I should probably be cleaning up the kitchen after tonight's dinner of chicken parmesan, but NOPE, I am creating. Creating a new bloggity blog. TWO: I really, REALLY don't like bragging about myself. BUT I found a loop hole, I don't mind bragging about my family. They are amazing and I want everyone to know that we, I mean they, are TOTALLY,  completely, ABSOLUTELY  Awesome! That's not bragging about myself right? to much? THREE: Since Hubby IS in law enforcement, he is sure that everyone who he has arrested, detained, offended is sure to be on the internet looking for him. I hope that's not the case, but if it is, I can always go private, RIGHT? I don't plan on going private. And FOUR: Last one, I promise. I am not the greatest writer. My grammar stinks, my spelling stinks worse, and I tend to add LOTS OF CAPITALS, add unnecessary, useless words, and make lists. Do people like lists to read? Oh yeah, and I ask questions.

So, with all those insecurities out in the open, here is the reason I started this blog. I had a baby back on May 1, 2008 and only journaled about him twice. TWICE in one year! HIS FIRST YEAR OF LIFE. Thank goodness for my "Baby's First Year" calendar I received at my baby shower that helped me mark the date of his milestones. I am no good at journaling. I get around to it every now and then, but nowhere as much as I want to. However, I do find myself on the internet quite often. Reading other peoples' blogs has motivated me to want to journal. This will be my electronic journal. Now, I can capture and remember all the adorable, cutsie, funny things Logan does day in and day out. You are welcome to come and read as often as you like, leave a comment, and enjoy the life of THE PARKSON LOT!
